THE BRIEF:

Chantecler Terrace was where Oakhurst's model was redefined, three homes on a quiet cul-de-sac in Constantia, the first development where we assumed total responsibility for the entire project delivery. Every decision, from securing the site through conceptualisation, pricing, purchaser interactions, project management, and handover, handled directly.

It was a proof of concept. We delivered all three homes two weeks ahead of schedule and came within 3% of the original budget. Every home sold before construction was complete. Those numbers mattered not because they made headlines, but because they proved the model, that if you develop meticulously and honestly, and treat every decision as if it were your own home, the rest will take care of itself.

Chantecler Terrace is complete and sold out. But it shaped everything that came after.

THE SITE:

The erf sits elevated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, naturally terraced towards the back in a way that preserves each home's views without compromise. Treetop and mountain views are framed from every level. The established olive trees on the site were retained, they give the development a maturity that no newly planted garden can replicate.

The site was vacant when we acquired it: no Heritage applications, no demolition, no delays. Its position adjacent to Strawberry Security Association's control room makes it one of the most securely situated addresses in Constantia, the first exclusive security estate in the area.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:

Constantia sits at the foot of the Constantiaberg, where the city ends and the mountain begins. The valley has been under vine since the seventeenth century, and that unhurried character persists, large properties, mature trees, and horse paddocks alongside contemporary homes.

Constantia Village provides day-to-day convenience without the noise, while the M3 puts the rest of the city and the airport within twenty minutes. The Alphen Trail, the wine estates and Sweet Valley, the American International School, and Constantia Waldorf are all close. It is the kind of address people come to and do not leave.

THE STANDARD:

Each home was developed to the finish standard that has since become the Oakhurst benchmark: engineered wooden flooring, quality sanitaryware, custom designed joinery throughout, top-end security compatible for both onsite and offsite monitoring.

Chantecler Terrace was the watershed. Our smallest development by value, but by far the one that I'm most proud of. It elevated our profile and enhanced our reputation in the market.
